WHAT DO I NEED TO MAKE AIR FRYER GARLIC PARMESAN CHICKEN SKEWERS?
The Chicken:
- boneless skinless chicken breasts
- plain Greek yogurt
- paprika
- garlic cloves
- lemon (juice and zest)
- olive oil
- salt and black pepper
- cooking spray
- wooden skewers
Garlic Parmesan Sauce:
- melted butter
- grated parmesan cheese
- garlic cloves
- fresh parsley
- black pepper
TIPS FOR THE BEST AIR FRYER CHICKEN SKEWERS:
- Use skewers that will fit in your air fryer. This will vary with the size of your air fryer.
- Cube chicken into approximately equal sizes for even cooking.
- Soak wooden skewers in water 15-20 minutes to prevent them from burning.
- Use a meat thermometer so the chicken isn’t overcooked and dry.
- Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easier cleanup.
- Cook a second batch if all the skewers don’t fit in your air fryer.
HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER GARLIC PARMESAN CHICKEN SKEWERS:
If using wooden skewers, place them in water to soak while you prep the chicken.
To a medium bowl add yogurt, paprika, garlic, lemon juice and zest, olive oil, salt and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
Cut chicken into about 1″ size pieces then add cubed chicken to the bowl turning to coat.
Thread chicken onto skewers (4-5 per skewer depending on size).
Add butter to a separate bowl and microwave just until melted. Stir in grated parmesan cheese, minced garlic, parsley and pepper and set aside.
Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees then lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
Place skewers into the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Air fry 8 minutes total or until chicken reaches an internal temp of 160-165 degrees on a meat thermometer.
Turn skewers over halfway through cooking and brush with the garlic butter.
Note: cooking time will vary depending upon exact size of chicken pieces and individual air fryer.
Transfer cooked chicken from the air fryer to a plate then spoon more butter sauce over the top. Serve right away.
WHAT GOES WITH AIR FRYER GARLIC PARMESAN CHICKEN SKEWERS?

SUBS AND VARIATIONS:
- Use chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts.
- I don’t recommend garlic powder. Fresh garlic cloves bring a much better flavor.
- Metal skewers can be used instead of wood.
HOW TO GRILL GARLIC PARMESAN CHICKEN SKEWERS:
Prepare the chicken per the instructions above then thread onto skewers.
Lightly oil the grill grates then place skewers onto the grill over the open flames.
Cook about 8 minutes total (or until the chicken reaches an internal temp of 160-165 degrees), turning halfway through but do not brush with butter (grill will flame up).
Remove chicken from the grill and slather generously with parmesan garlic butter. Serve right away with the remaining butter.
HOW TO STORE LEFTOVER GARLIC PARMESAN CHICKEN:
Store leftover chicken skewers in an airtight container in the fridge up to 3 days.
Reheat and eat — can also add to salads or pasta too.

- 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
